How to Use the GerTechTeile DPF Solution
Steps to take
Step 1 👇
Start the engine and let it run until the engine water temperature reaches 90 degrees Celsius.
Step 2 👇
Identify the hose for the most accessible pressure sensor before the DPF filter, the Lambda sensor, or the temperature sensor to which you have access.
Step 3 👇
Using an OBD tester that reads Live Data on the differential pressure sensor and a manometer to confirm the information provided by the tester, read the pressure before the filter (back pressure), which will show how clogged the DPF filter is. Record the pressure readings (both at idle and under load) or take a photo/video. Then, turn off the engine!
Step 4 👇
Disconnect the manometer from the sensor hose (or from the probe port), attach the orange adapter in place of the bottle cap, then connect the conical adapter into the Lambda probe port or the hose to the pressure sensor.
Step 5 👇
Inject the cleaning solution into the exhaust manifold with the engine off and observe the white smoke coming from the vehicle's exhaust, indicating that the solution has begun to act on the deposits inside the DPF filter.
Step 6 👇
Let the solution sit and act for approximately 15 minutes with the engine off.
Step 7 👇
Start the engine and let it idle for approximately 10-15 minutes without revving. Observe how dense white, gray, or black smoke begins to come out of the exhaust, indicating that the ash and hydrocarbons from the filter are being expelled.
Step 8 👇
When you no longer observe smoke coming from the exhaust, it means the solution has finished its reaction, and the procedure can be stopped. It is recommended to drive the car for 10-15 minutes at a normal pace or rev the engine while stationary at 2500 RPM for a few minutes.
Step 9 👇
Repeat the procedure from step 3 with the engine running and take a photo/video of the result as proof that a lower value than the one at the start of the cleaning process has been achieved. An acceptable value is between 60-80 mbar, and a lower value indicates a perfect cleaning.
